Matt is a founding member of Platform Real Estate Group and Principal of Thornton Capital, a single family office based in Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to Thornton Capital, he served as President and CEO of Thorntons, a 200-unit convenience store chain in the Midwest and Southeast from 2001-2019. Matt grew the organization to $3B in revenue until their sale to British Petroleum in 2019, sparking the launch of Thornton Capital.
Separately in 2009, Matt seeded L3 Capital. Based in Chicago, L3 is a prime urban retail and mixed-use real estate investment firm targeting institutional quality, core plus value-add investments.
